Hi Jim, nope you do not have to remove the gauges. I used double sided tape (the clear thin stuff), put it at 12, 3, 6, and 9 oclock. And they are stuck fast. They really set off the interior.

I have them Too, They realy add to the apearance. A modern update with out changing the gauges.

Just got mine, Fantastic. Fitted them to early gauges, late gauges and 911 gauges. I had no problem with any of them.
