Yes I know they are not the best. I wish I could afford the Dakotadigital. I can get a used VDO CHT for $20.00 from a friend of mine. What i need to know is do i Have to use the VDO (brand) sender probe or can i use this one from Aircraft spruce

Yes, you have to use the VDO sender/wire. it should be long enough
