HISTORY

The only history of the car I could find that it was owned for many years by a gentleman in CT. Racer Chris did some work for him including the time he hit a Jersey barrier with the left rear corner and he replaced the trailing arm and brake caliper. In April 2002 Chris did the PPI for a 914 board member. At that time the car ran well, had good compression on all cylinders and needed no rust repair at all. I bought the car in March 2006.

At some time in the past the car was hit on the drivers front. The inner wheel well was creased and the front panel behind the bumper was replaced. The hood was repainted at this time.

First off,

I'm selling the car to buy a 911. I'm at a crossroad as to re-engine the 74 or go for a 911. I still have my red 71 914 so I'm not getting out of 914s.

My plan for the 74 was to 5-lug (done), re-engine (MassIVe IV-not done), and repaint (not-done but lots of prep work done (rear flares, a couple of rust repairs but not yet painted). However I didn't want to dump the 2L-FI since it runs so well that I didn't want to cut it up. So it's better for me to sell the 74, get a 911, and work on the 71.

Just checked out your website. Nice cars. I think I've heard of you from a friend who has a 69 Camaro. I like the 78 911 you have.

I'll be around all weekend if you want to get together. I wouldn't mind finding out more about your 911.

the siren song of the 911 stikes again. The '78 SC is my buddies car- Jeff. He's the Porsche guy in the group, though my friend Bill, who is also one of the Rocking chair gang is also an SC owner, as well as a former 914 guy. Probably Jeff and I should come over together, or if you want to look at our other cars, maybe we could meet at the shop in Pennsville. I'd love to see you tackle the rust in our old 911, or one of the Alfas. I'll call Jeff tomorrow and see what his weekend schedule is. I'm pretty flexible.
