On wed. My 914 after i put gas in her the fuel pump stopped working. I had her towed back home. Today I wired a direct line from the battery to the pump and the pump works perfectly. I have been doing some searches and i have found some post. and diagrams. I have also changed the relay fuse still to power to pump. Where does the relay board gets its power from what wires. blink.gif
thanks
SirAndy
Did you change the relay?

Just swap it with a headlight motor relay ...

PS: Do a search here, we had a post not too long ago about just that, with detailed pictures of the board schematics and all ...

best to call one of the gurus and have him or her guide you through it. There are several who have posted 24 hour a day help phone numbers.

I have changed the fuse still no power. I am going to keep doing more searches I guess the first thing i have to do is check the board to see if it is getting power.

I Finally got my fuel pump working i did the following

"Take out relay #75. Make sure that pins #30 and #85 have 12v.
If both have 12v, jumper pins 30 and 87, and see if the pump runs.
If that works, put the relay back in and ground the front left pin on the 4 pin connector on the relay board (numbered III on the diagram). The pump should run." Thanks ChrisNPDrider

I did all this and the pump worked biggrin.gif but once I would plugged back the front left pin on the 4 pin connector on the relay board (numbered III on the diagram) it would not work. So it was a grounding problem. I was able to trace the wire to the grounding point and it was loose I plugged it back it and it was fixed. smilie_pokal.gif piratenanner.gif

But now after i changed all the plugs and a new pertronix it does not want to start it was starting before.... I think it is the pertronix...

I think it is the pertronix...

If you cross the wires, they will fry instantly ...

I know I had one for about 6 years and when I changed the coil I crossed them that's why i had to install a new one.

Is there any way to test if the pertronix is working Last time I had it working was when i was adjusting the timing and then the fuel pump problem began

Check that you have 12 volts + the correct side of the coil. Then drop a set of points in and see if it fires. Really you should allways have a set in case. biggrin.gif

Thanks Steve. I finally got her running the problem was with the timing. I checked the pertronix using a tech guide from the bird place on timing.

great guide to get the car running. smilie_pokal.gif
