Hi All -
I am curious if the early tach and speedo needles (with the silver dots) can be used on a later model guage with the black needle centers.

Anyone know?

Thanks!!!

yes but the two arrows for the turnsignal will flash together unless rewired

What years were the silver button gauges used through?

Why would swapping the needles require any re-wiring? The guage is fully intact as it was, just with a different needle.

Are the shaft diameters the same?

I think the black centered needles started in 74...

They kind of work. The late style pointers have slightly smaller holes for attaching to the post. The early tach pointer hole will have to be adhered to the tach post for sure.

Scott,

I think I did this once, but taking off the silver button and glueing it onto the other needle...

when they are apart, you can verify it.. but I think that worked also.
