if the black vinyl seats are original (interior code 11), there are two possibilities:
black* - "Needle Loom" (standard 914)
black* - "Pile type carpet" (914 with appearance group)

* - the black looks like dark grey

Agree with Gustl.

And...depends on other Factory equipment.

Charcoal grey/Black loop.....With what looks like white
cat hair spires in it.......Farbe 701..They called it a 'Pile'
Although it is a loop style......
As a USA pile is different...
BUT George sold me the most complete set of it years ago....
Less main driver and back pcs. had to be made out of larger pcs..
AND STILL would like to find a new driver pc!!!
REALLY suggest getting samples from various dealers.....
I tried Porsche back in 96..It was gone back then.....
I have yet to see the 'Needled Felt' (Per USA lingo) in a 73......2.0.......
Most were sold Loaded Up....USA that is...
Color choices were Tan..Black..Brown..Should be some pics of it on the Nailed interiors??

Follow up question on the carpet issue:

I have tan seats (with corduroy inserts) and tan door panels and backpad on my 73 2.0. Would they always put tan carpet in this color combo? Does anyone have this and the dark gray/black loop as stock?

Two issues drive my question:

Is the tan loop carpet even available?

Also, I'm not so sure I like the look of the tan carpet anyway.

I do like everything else in the interior that was originally tan to stay tan.
