Anyone familiar with this shift knob? Is it old, newer, still available? Right above the crest emblem it says "Personal". Isn't that a division of Nardi? On the bottom it says "patent" and "made in Italy". Inside the mounting hole says "9/16". I think it's leather, but not 100% sure. I'm trying to decide if I want to use it or get rid of it. I assume it just mounts using a crush ring like an original knob.

Phil,
I recall advertisements in R&T and C&D from the '70s that featured the "Personal" name on steering wheels, shift knobs, and possibly other import/sports car accesories (fog lights, luggage racks, driving gloves confused24.gif ). I'd think that shift knob is an era-appropriate item for a 914. I don't know if the brand "Personal" is still around today as it was known back when it was a contemporary of our cars' production.

No info... but my 914 came with the same knob! It's pretty comfy!

I got mine about 1995 from AA. It was leather.

I have a fitapaldi personal steering wheel and I also think it's a nardi.
