1 : sand

2 : sandblast ( glassbead )

You could just sand them down by hand and paint over the old paint...the sanding would be to smooth out all the orange peel and drips etc...

Someone recently told me that oven cleaner worked.

Best way?

Depends on what you call best way...

Paint stripper messy no doubt, and time consuming.

Could tape up your polished area an do as scottyb said and glassbead em.

expect to spent some time on this project cause your still gonna want to re-polish them.

Billy is right. Easy-off can be used to remove the paint, anodizing, etc from the wheels. They are then ready for some Mother's and a nice polishing. Or you can repaint.

Be sure to share the finished results.

Enjoy!

Goats. Goats don't leave marks. In fact, goats don't leave anything.

I used eagle one mag wheel etch. Worked very well. I painted the Rivi with grey wheel paint then bolted one at a time on the rear and polished the lips with the car running. Looks ok for Rivi's.

Ordered new center caps from AA-still waiting.
