You do need to run a much bigger master cyl ... 23 mm ...
Yes. I know.
I wasn't referring to a technical problem. I know how to mount them. I know what MC to run. I know all the technical aspects to make them work.
BTDT.
Then, you run them hard and you realize that in a 914, which is significantly lighter than a 930, you can't modulate them the way you want to. They don't grip well with little pressure, then they grip too hard. Tried different pads and compounds. Some made it better some made it worse.
Never got to the point where they felt comfortable.
Finally switched to boxster calipers front and rear and had instant success with grip, feel and modulatingability (i'm making up words here
)
All this on a 914/6 car set up for club racing with a warmed over 300+ HP 3.0L motor ...
Andy
That makes sense...so the larger setup was in fact to large.
To binary no matter what you did.
The boxster brakes are just right...or at least not as on/off and the 930 setup...
BTW, can you write this in German "modulatingability"
Those were the words that pissed me off trying to read the morning paper over there...all the newspaper writers thought up new words every day....threw me completely off trying to figure out what the hell they meant.
