Full Version: What is nut size on steering wheel?

Hello friends can anyone tell me what is size of the nut which holds the steering wheel onto the shaft? I have read its 29-30mm which is +/- %4

I agree with 27mm. I've always used a Snap-on socket that has 1 1/16" and 27mm engraved on it. PN#IM340.

just my 2 cents, Harbor Freight has a pair of digital inch/metric calipers usually on sale for about $15. (the metal ones). I checked them with my Mitutoyo standards and they were within .0005". Very good for general work. welcome.png

1 1/16" has always worked for me.....oh wait....we are talking nuts...

The nut bore is an 18mm with a 1.5mm pitch thread, 8.85mm thick. agree.gif It uses a 27mm wrench (1 1/16").

A helpful tip.

When removing the steering wheel do not take the nut off all the way. That way when you pop the wheel off the nut will stop the wheel from popping your face.

Just did this. Didn't have a metric size socket so went with American.....worked fine....Hopefully it is not that tight. Good Luck!!!!

27m is too small I will go with the caliber purchase and then try the 30mm
