I am trying to clean off the heavy carbon build up on the exhaust side of the turbocharger, I have tried brake cleaner, carb cleaner, gas, steam, sea foam, oven cleaner, aircraft paint remover, no luck, I have not tried liquid hydrogen or media blasting or chiminey creosote cleaner, any ideas on what will work without messing up the fragile turbine.

Have you tried MEK... it's a solvent you can get at Home Depot... Methyl Ethyl Ketone... not sure if it will work, but it's strong as sh*t!

MEK is banned in England......something about being cacogenic
used to be good for cleaning though!

Yes... wear gloves and a mask... or do it outside on a breezy day.

Don't smoke around it.... If you DO smoke, you may end up depositing your OWN carbon on it.

GM Top End Cleaner

Not sure of the part number but you can get it at your local Mr. Goodwrench.

Try your local Yamaha Motorcycle dealer, We use their carbon cleaner for decarbonization on motorcycle cylinder heads. They also have the very best carb cleaner (dunk style) chemical I have ever seen. You can brush it on crancases and they will look new.
