According to Steve Wiley, the rebuilder, it appears to be a low mileage box that didn't really need to be opened up. I put the plate in as it's the main weak spot on the 915 for anything other than stock motors.

I did that upgrade on my 915 that has the 3.6. Rock solid.

Oh, and it's an early model. 7/31 ring and pinion....mechanical speedo.
