Paul aka Lotus65 brought his car over to my place a few weeks ago so we could
get it running again. Paul picked up a used 1.8 to put in the car until he can get to
rebuilding his other engine.
I put the engine in for him last week and Paul has been by hooking things up.
yesterday he came over and was hoping to get it started but it had no spark when
i checked it for him, I was busy with other things so i couldn't help him.
This morning i thought i would check it out for him and fire it up, I replaced the points
and pulled and put the distributor in correctly.
The thing wont run as the fuel pump is not running either, Paul knows how thats wired
as it is not wired into the stock wiring.

I primed the carbs and the engine wants to pop but there is a major restriction in the exhaust system, it keeps blowing out Mouse skeletons and nesting debris, it's smelly..

Better in the exhaust than any place where they can get to the wiring. I have a friend who had a mouse wreck the wiring in a classic Corvette that way.

While my mom was riding in her CR-V, she heard a thump and the blower motor started to make the "Cards in the spokes" sound.

So, I pull the blower and find an entire mouse nest, with babies and the guess what the "card" was...

...Yup, it was Momma mouse's leg.

Took a season to stop smelling like deceased mouse, even though I checked the whole intake tract.

It's better than a cat!
I started my truck once when a cat was laying in the bottom of the fan shroud.
Wow, what a sound that was. I turned it off and retrieved the cat. It really fuched him up. Ripped off one ear, lots of cuts, one broken leg. I had a lot of cats out on that farm so I didn't spend any money on him at the vet. I drugged him, cleaned the cuts, set the leg and taped a paint stir stick as a splint.
That torn up cat lived forever after that, 10 years that I know of.

The HE on my /6 conversion blew flames (mouse nest + inhabitants). Anyone for cooked Mice?

While riding around with my buddy in his 69 bug one night we thumped a jack rabbit as, I kid you not, a HERD of them were crossing the road. It was like a jack rabbit cone dodging autocross. Anyway a few minutes later we smelled burning hair/hare and pulled over. Somehow the rabbit actually got wrapped up around the drivers side axle, nasty, really really nasty.

The car pooped out about 5 more whole petrified mice, and the car runs, one minor oil leak but Paul is on his way....

Be sure to give him back his mice.

He prolly lived another 10 because he new not to go there again ...anywho to combat the mouse issue upon storeing your car for any deration put bounce dryer sheets everywhere around the motor,in the tail pipes, around the tins,under the dash.glove box,front and rear trunks.use lots of them like a whole box or more It works!Alot of the farmers do it with trucks and tractors that will be setting all winter.Mice dont like the smell i guess

That used to happen all the time in my mom's 84 caprice when I was growing up. Our cats would crawl up in there to keep out of the cold winter wind, mom would go out to start it up, and hear "RAAAAR!" We always knew exactly what had happened, but if the cat was lucky enough to survive, they always bolted off before we had a chance to catch them for medical treatment.

Oh well, they were just stupid cats.

There wasn't any nasty smells to follow, but one time a buddy of mine got into his pick up and started driving down the road. When he hit around 35 he started hearing a thumping noise and before he could slow down to investigate, a squirrel flew out in front of him!

A few days later he had to change the tire, and the squirrels paw was still behind the hub cap!

Moth balls work well also. It takes a hell of alot of moths, though! I liked your cat story. In 1973, the same thing happened to me except I took the stray bastard to the emergency vet at 2:00am (skunk drunk) paid $175, flush his wounds out for 2 weeks, got his tubes and stiches taken out, with a clean bill of health from the vet. The SOB ran away the next day!
