Anyone running these on their 914? I wanted 7's but it seems like it takes some magic to get them to fit in the rear, therefore I think I want to go the easy route of 6's albeit at a higher cost probably.

Thanks
Phillip
ps I will break out of the newbie stage soon enough.
ScooterD
The rotors are stock 4 cylinder versions that were drilled and studs were installed.

Looks great what size tires?
ConeDodger
205 50 16 tires (I don't care about no stinking speedometer! Can't see it anyway)
ScooterD
Rob (Cone Dodger) is correct about the tire size on my car, but next time I would put 205-55/16's on and there would be only a 2% error on the speedo.

Edit: now that I think about it, these are 7's with 205/45's. Sorry. Did have to stretch the rear fenders a bit.

Here are some 16x6 Boxter wheels F/R on my DD with 195/50/16 Khumo Ecsta's courtesy of Porsche Rescue, got my monies worth out of these Jim! Just received, after a considerable wait time, some Harvey Weideman reconditioned 16x6 Fuchs in the boxes, finished like 15's. Going on soon.

These wheels/tires for sale, $500.

Did you need spacers w/ the Boxter 6" wheels?
drgchapman
Backspacing same as 911, no spacers needed.

16x6 Boxster wheel offset is 50mm, not the same 6" fuchs (36mm). IMO ~35mm is the best offset for getting wheels centered on the rear, you could use about a half-inch spacer.

I once test-fitted 6x15 phone dial (52mm) and it rubbed on the inside.

You may be right, but they fit perfectly, no spacers, no rub, no fender mods.
Easy-smeezy.

195/50 are not very wide. I think the random tire I had was 205/60 (stockish diameter).

Good looking car, are you using any spacers?

No spacers. I have Toyo RA1's on the car in 205/55/16 size and it makes the speedometer accurate. Backs barely fit.

Thanks guys. I went with 6's. 7's will not go under there without some work. I went ahead and did the rear today since I had the wheels and hubs and all. Still waiting on the front wheels to get here to finish the drill.

What do you think? I have some before pics of the wheels too.

aktion035.gif I like it just like that...

I have just aquired the one year only 944 turbo 7's and 8's X16 for my GT flare conversion. I will be using 205/50-16 on the fronts and 225/45-16 on the rears.

LOVE that white car!
