It's a matter of Hub-centric (late cars) vs Lug-centric (early cars). The actual hole in the wheel is the same for all factory alloys, but the later cars had a relief cast into the back side to fit over the hub-centric rotor design,
that's my take and I'm sticking to it.
Superb, that's exactly the info I need to know. Any idea when the rotor design changed? Was it late '72, or '73?
