exhaust step studs: M8/M9 what size tap?

M8 1.25 pitch - I'm really pretty damn sure about that BTW.

Shite.. didn't see step stud. Just read exhaust stud. Ive never used one. I'll bet it's 1.25 as well. Got a thread pitch gauge? I think I know the answer to that question.

If you have the stud out of the case, take it to a True Value hardware store (or some other store that usually has a good selection of metric fasteners, taps and dies - not HD or Loews). My guess is that it will be 9x1.25, but the only way to know for sure is to test it.

Its a 1.25 pitch on both ends. I had a spare lying around so I just checked.
