I just replaced both bushings in the coupler, but I don't remember one side sticking out more than the otherside.

Just push it back a smidge to even up both sides and you're good.

And hopefully you have the set screw on the correct side.

I can't get the pin to go in any further. In fact I was using a vice with a long pipe to turn the handle. The vice exploded and put a dent in the hood of my 993. I even tried taking the pin out and put it in the opposite side. Same problem.

All fixed. I love learning the hard way. Use the vise with a socket to force the pin out and just use a hammer to push the pin back in against the floor or other hard surface.
