Which wheels do you like better on a 914 period correct Fuchs or Mahles? Which are more valuable/desirable?

Fuchs ... the finish is better; they are forged rather than pressure cast.
Mahles ... you might as well get Pedrinis.

I personally like Fuchs, but Babydoll has Mahles, so I guess I like them both.

To me the four lug Fuchs say 914 more than any other wheel.

I like them both. The Fuchs polish up nice and the Mahles that came on my car originally look good in a flat bare aluminum finish, IMHO.

I think 5-lug Fuchs are the best looking wheels ever made...I love love love them. That said, gas burners are amazingly light, and I can certainly appreciate 'em from that standpoint. Still though, I say Fuchs.

Fuchs that, I have a set of the Mahles that got Linda a Best -4 at the WCC 06. They have looked GREAT on all of the cars I have put them on. Currently on The NARB. Done by Al Reed black with pollished lips. Sorry no pics here as I am at work.

My favorite of the 4-lug wheels are the fuchs. I also have a set of Mahles.

Fuchs.
The only Mahle that would change that is ones where the spines are chromed. It looked awesome.

Thanks for all the replies. Seems to be a near equal split. Maybe put Fuchs on the front and Malhes on the rear?

I definitely go with Mahles!
The fuchs just don't look right on that car, and I think it is the fact that it is an even and low number of slots/spokes. Effectively, the fuchs have 4 spokes, while the Mahles have 8.
I'll have to find a quote from Bob Cumberford discussing the error in using an even number of spokes on a wheel. He was discussing the tragedy that was the Saturn Ion at the time, but the design issue is still the same with an effective 4 spoke wheel (cover).
As for Pedrinis, I never liked them, seemed too feminine for an angular car like the 914.

Our opinions do not really matter.
It is you car.
Put what ever you like on it.
There are thousands of pic's here.
Check them out and you decide.
As said before one type of wheel will look different on different colored cars.
Most of us have a collection of wheels, mahles, fuchs, aftermarket, and let us not forget the moon pie, as callled bu many.
The moon pie is now getting its day,
Once so common as the others cost so much more.
The moon pie is now concidered a rare wheel on a 914.
