I have bought a 914 1972 with 1700cc engine.
The original colour is black.
The interiour seats are red.
Is that stock ? They look stock.
There is no vinyl on the pilar behind you. On left and right side
just near tthe alu trim. Is that different on different models ?

Niklas, no red interiors were offered. Black or Beige for a 72 model year. Look near the top of the Originality Forum for the nailed threads. Look at Pat Garvey's red car. His is also a 72.

I'm not so sure about that Tod.

Edit: Whoops, I was thinking of the custom red interior Craig L had done awhile back.

Craig's interior looked factory. Was a beautiful job.

In late '72 (when I bought my 914) black, silver and gold were $300 options.

I really wanted the gold, but was spent to the limt at $4295 (hell, I barely made 10k a year). As much as I love my Bahiarot, I'd rather have had black. Yep, interiors were either black or beige (actually a very light brown).

So far as I am aware, no red-based interiors (seats only) werre made available until 1975 & they were plaid.
