I don't own this car, but recently test drove a '73 2.0 with stock FI that is for sale. It had a very high idle, 1,500 rpm (assuming the tach is correct, it sure sounded high) and when accelerating above 3,000 rpm the engine "stuttered": lots of little hesitations, it wasn't smooth. You could feel the hesitations through the gas pedal, not sure if a passenger would feel them or not.

The seller said he recently had the car serviced by a qualified mechanic. Draw your own conclusions.

I am interested in recommendations from 914 owners in the Orange County, California, area for expert 914 mechanics who understand the factory FI system and could potentially make this car run properly.

Thanks,

Ottos in Venice.

Ottos, NARW or Carl Thompson (if you can get him to look at the FI system as he knows everything).
