The 2009 Wiener National races at Los Alamitos Race track.
July 18.......first race starts at 6:15pm and my doggie Lulu is in the first race

We were asked to participate in a promotional spot by Wienerschnitzel (the sponsor)
at the dog beach in Huntington Beach........here is a link to the video.

Ha! Good luck next weekend! My wife calls those dogs "Hot Dogs". Make's me chuckle everytime. Also, a woman at work has a dog in that race too, you'd probably know her she enters every year.

I used to go to races like this on lay-overs in Seoule Korea. The end of the race was a bit different... I really don't like to talk about it.

Yup, I have a Mini one, I'd like to but the wife would probably freak out about it. We've been to the races at Octoberfest in HB off the 405. Some of those little dogs are extremly fast.

Lisa,

You have a little problem with the dog in red.....

It can't keep it's feet on the ground

You need to do the tried and true 914 trick of adding ground effects to keep the dog down for enhanced traction- a front and a rear spoiler....

And since the dog has to lug extra weight, I've included a nitrous oxide booster for the dog...

Bark might sound a little funny though......

Lulu in the first race.........she'll be wearing Orange #7
It's a qualifier so if she wins that race then she'll be in
the 5th trial Pink #8

Doxies and teeners... right up my alley! Our rescued 'tweener dachshund Ginger came in second in the Standard Category at the 2009 UC Davis Picnic Day Doxie Derby. She lost by a nose to the eventual overall winner.

Her eyes are red in the first pic, but she actually has psychotic ice blue eyes. You remember that scene from Monty Python's Holy Grail with the Killer Rabbit? When Ginger stares into your eyes, it can make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. She's recently tore away from us at a regional park and ran barking right up to a huge Rottweiler. The Rotty just stood there looking away, not sure whether to eat Ginger or to be scared of her!

Yeah, my daughter likes to dress up our dogs. Do they look totally embarrassed or what? The 11 pound Ginger scares the SH** out our 95 pound Yellow Lab named Bogey... but that shouldn't surprise anyone, given what he's wearing.

For those of you locals who can watch the morning news,
my daughter and I will be on with Lulu and other wiener dogs and
their owners tomorrow morining on the KTLA morning news

They do a little spot and promo mock race in the parking lot to advertise
the event this Sat.
