Went down to Aaron's this morning and spent most of the day there working on 222.

Cut out all the headlight assembly and some other stuff, all told 17lbs.

Aaron is doing a great job on the cage, it's going to look good, even though you have to have them pretty high to meet SCCA regulations.

A few pictures.

Looking good! What SCCA class are you building to? Cant you avoid tall cage by lowering seat? I now when Tony C and I looked at my 914 we found a few ways to keep rear hoop a little lower. but certanly is more straight foward just going higher with more bar.

The seat is mounted to a very short frame that runs accross the floor.

Oh, got a few more lbs. out of her today.

I'd love to bring The Beast up, with some autox tires, but it isn't in the cards this year.

Are you happy with the roll cage work? I have similar project happening with the Boxster and need a SCCA legal cage for a chop top Boxster. I'm looking for somone affordable to help me out.

Aaron does excellant work. I'll be glad to introduce you to him when he returns from Portland later this week.

His shop is down in Morgan Hill, not far from the little airport that is next to the freeway.

Nice fit for the plate next to the rear shock tower.

So you are not tying the shock tower to the Long? and putting the tube on that plate. Like JP did and I copied.

The tube would go on that plate.

How did you tie your tube to the shock tower? A picture would be great.

Thanks.

Wish I had a different angle on this picture to see where the tube goes.

Really sorry to hear about the stroke JP. Hopefully this posting finds you on the road to recovery.

Keep on posting, we now need to keep track of you.

I was down to pick his brain on Wednesday about tires and suspension. I'm glad to report there is a lot of his brain left to pick. I don't want to make light of the what happened but, in his home I wouldn't have known that anything happened if I hadn't read about it and then talked about it with JP. I thought he was doing real well.

Thanks for stopping by, Dave. After the brain exercise I had to go take a nap. yellowsleep[1].gif

A nap after our mind games would have been good. Mid day naps are a blessing. The drive home was way hot.
