Now I have no 3rd, 4th, or 5th gears.

I wasn't tromping on the throttle at all. Just shifter into 5th and it "Popped out".

Any thoughts, anyone?

Yea, yea, get a 6.... =-)

Check your shifter linkage...bushings and allen set screws first.

Meaning you can't get into 3,4,5 or you can find them, but not forward motion?

Had that happen on my 75, was the bushing by the firewall on mine. Like Rich suggested.

Bummer!
Hopefully a quick inspection of the linkage will find the problem.
I took Dr Evil's transaxle re-built session and can easily pull the gear stack out (with rented tools) to inspect that if needed. A loose or broken shift fork (rare) would be easy to replace. It looks complicated, but it is not that bad.
Good luck

Thanks guys, I'll get on that today.

I thought it shifted into the gear positions at the shifter but I could be wrong...

I hope i'm wrong. biggrin.gif
