Looking for an operational thermo-time switch for a 1974 2.0 (part number 311 906 161 C) that triggers the cold start injector during cold weather. Testing does not seem bad according to the following link:

Check Samba, The same seller has a germen supply neart canada and has or at least sold nos 2.0 injectors at same site, and i believe is listing a vacummn hose rubber thing for the 1.7 also nos.. I bought an NOS THERMO_ TIME SWITCHone and same seller has about 6 of same part different #'s, I ran the #'s and they are all close.. for example one is active at 32 degrees, another at 15 degrees, and the 3rd. fires the injector at 5 degress so the numbers are not really that important and even if your in the snow areas you should get some firing..

Also, where did you find the listing of the temperatures for each part number...IE one is active at 32 degrees, etc. I would like to know which one I am getting - it gets pretty cold here sometimes. Thanks. Bob

I chose the one ending in "A" that is the one that starts the firing of cold start valve at 32 degrees. (freezing) the one ending in "b" starts firing at 15 degrees, and the one with no Letter conotation fires at 5 degrees etc.. You will have to take my word on this as though my memory serves perfect the info. and where I got it took heavy searching with some random logic jumps to find it online ( I had to read threads and actually found out where this guy bought them which is where I jumped into a thread where the orginal owner had found the info doing same etc.) Oh and for your original '74 2.0 thermo ending in "c' was desighned to fire at 10 degrees.. Whay do I know that too? I have the same "74 2.0.. Probably more important to you in PA than me in So. Cal. where the only place my cold start valve fires is in my freezer...

Yo Perrin...I appreciate the education. I will take your word on it - you have certainly done your research. I get the feeling that the cold start valve is not really that necessary unless it gets REALLY cold. That being said, my best bet would probably be the "A" variety.
