I am currently running Nitto NT1's 225/45/15 on 8x15's, on my 85 944na
They were a huge improvement from kuhmo 700's,
they have a 100 tread rating and I found them for $140
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/t...e&tmn=NT-01Do they make the NT05 street tire in a 225? That might be a good option for those who want to stick with streets. Issue I have with DOT R's and california roads is that they pickup sharp stuff and puncture more often.
The nitto nt05 start at 17's, although the nitto nt01 are DOT r's the have a 100 tread rating which is high for a R, One of the reasons I chose them, was so I could drive them to the Autox's.
I guess it all depends on how the car is being used, just my two cents.
