Might be handy to have a comprehensive list of seats that fit the 914 with objective and factual information only. Maybe something like:

Not aftermarket exactly, but i was rebuilding a 1979 MG Midget and i picked up a pair of Mazda Miata ( 2000-ish) seats with the built in speakers for it, and i test fitted them in the 914 - very nice, easy install - but you need Mazda runners, they are the narrowist production seats you can find - and can be found for about $200 pair on c-list.
