Hi,
Heading to a swap meet and thought I would be a nice guy.
if its simple, I would get JoeM an ljet distributor.
So, what are the part numbers?
Are there more than one?
this meet is a VW meet, but there are usually boxes of distributors in someones stash.
I always look for 050 and old vw ones...most of those are long gone.
The Ljet ones should be pretty abundant...

The one you want is:
VW 022 905 205 AA
Bosch 0 231 181 009 / 010.
These numbers will be in one line on the distributor housing.

I have a 1.8 L-Jet Distributer complete with plug wires, pertronix, and spare parts available . It works fine; it was replaced with a Mallory Unilite/ PM me if interested--or if Joe is.

But Jim, you ruined it by putting Petronix in it
And Rich ... those old cast iron VW dizzys can be worth some bucks ... you just have to know the numbers and hope they are not rusted nor missing parts.
We just went through about 700 of them and lo and behold I found an original 911S Yellow Tag Distributor ... Talk about nostalgic wall-art.

SLITS, I go through every box at the swap meets.
I always look for the old ones...kinda my boring browsing thing...
I never look for a specific ljet one...
Hoping to pay like ten bucks...its not like its a super rare distributor.
If I had one, I would give it to JOEM just to get him going.
Jim, if you want to give it to him...I think that would work.
Otherwise, I will find a solution for him at the swap meet...there should be about 500 distributors there...I should be able to find one.
If not, I could always roam around the car show section with a 13mm wrench....
