I have a bunch more I will add later. I am sure someone with a better camera than mine will add some of the cars I havent posted. Over 400 cars there, about 140 were Porsches!

Please keep the photos comming. I went today and could not wipe the smile off my face when the 3-Gulf 917's were all running together w00t.gif . 25,21,and 18 if I remember correctly. What a nice day. I did meet BMXerror while walking up top near the cork screw. I work Saturday but if all goes well I'll be back on Sunday with the family. I have my kids excited to see the real the Fabulous Hudson Hornet -aka- Doc Hudson.

I was actually surprised at how tame the sound was compared to some of the big V-8's . No doubt they lightening fast but I expected the cars would be loud and have that rev - crackle - pop, but instead they were fast, smooth and relatively quite. It was a pleasure to see them run.

Keep the pictures coming for us poor bastards that are not there!

2nd owner, unrestored, 550. According to the owner the only original unrestored 550 in the world. IIRC extremely low miles too.

The kids were excited to see Doc Hudson today. They also met Vic Elford and both sat in 3 different race cars. It will be years before they can actually appreciate how really cool it was today. Nolan, age 4, asked if we could go back tomorrow as we pulled into our drive way tonight. biggrin.gif

Not sure about that claim. Attached is a pic from the Palo Alto Concours this past June. Its a totally unrestored 550 - a recent acquisition of one of the larger NorCal collectors; supposedly one of the last built. I also believe it won Best of Class at the recently completed Carmel Concours. It sure got a lot of attention at both venues!

BTW, in the process of getting Brian Redman's autograph yesterday on the event poster (along with Vic Elford, George Folmar, David Piper and Tony Adamowicz), I asked him about Rennsport IV - he said its still up in the air and not likely to have any info until next month or shortly later. Keep your fingers crossed!

Yeah i think he meant with a race pedigree. Q-tip cars are nice, but let's race!

I agree for sure - but not a Q-tip car by any stretch - totally unrestored - check out the top! biggrin.gif
