Some health issues combined with bad economic ju-ju are resulting in My having to vacate My home and shop. The 914 is now my only trans., and I've been finishing up the resto/upgrades started a year ago. It's pretty much all together and ready to start except for a couple of electrical faults I haven't resolved (and time is running out). Among them is a glitch in the ignition switch/system. When the key is turned to the first position(acc.) the starter engages. The only time I've had this happen in the past, the switch was bad, but it seems like too much of a coincidence. Anyone have an idea of what else could cause this?

Check yer wire connections on the switch. If the wires are attached to the the wrong blades on the switch, then the moving the key to the first positon could start the starter.
If not, bad switch....
