Has anyone done any buisness with a place called Wheels & Caps. Ran across them on the internet and called to ask the brand name of some Fuchs they have. I expected them to be repos. The guy said "Porsche". They are reconditioned factory wheels he said. They are blasted and repainted and checked for straightness. Good prices, but I wanted to see it anyone had bought any of their wheels.

I have not done business with them but I would ask them to supply the part number off the wheels you are interested in. If they are real Fuchs they will have a OEM part number stamped on them.

Are you looking for 4 or 5 lug Fuchs ? What kind of price are they quoting ? For reference I just picked up a pair of 8x16 Fuchs 5 lug for $850.00 shipped to my door. That is a pretty good price I've seen 8's go for $1000.00 for the pair plus shipping. Make sure whatever you buy it has the OEM part number stamped and the Fuch fox head. Good luck.

Those are definitely replicas. Yes, it even says that in the ad. The guy you talked to is either clueless or talking about a set of real Fuchs wheels that are not represented in that link. As always, caveat emptor.

Just a salesman trying to get more for something worth a lot less and using the distance to his advantage.

I think you probably know this by now, those aren't Fuchs, not possible at that price for reconditioned Fuchs. Even if you got a great deal on the wheels you'll pay at least $150/ea plus the cost to refinish. I purchased a pair of 8x16 Fuchs from Alex Magro a few years ago. Great guy to deal with and he's a good wheel refinisher.

Al Reed is still around, IIRC. He does a great job with Fuchs. I spoke to both him and his wife on the phone: they love to do Fuchs because they polish so nicely with less effort than some other stock wheels.
