Just a quick post to notify anyone interested in my 914 Porsche websites that I have recently changed the domain from rennlist.com to my own linux server. .ftp is fantastic! There was never any problem with rennlist, they have been great for so many years, I just needed to upgrade and with the help of my computer-wiz son, we did it.

Recent upgrades have been made to all my websites including new content. Iin addition, latent changes were necessitated by the change in server software, so if you notice any problems please let me know. More content is always being continually added as I find it and have time to update the sites. Always glad to hear your feedback if any of them can be improved to benefit the 914 community. Here are the new website links:

914 Parts For Sale http://bowlsby.net/914/PartsFS/

Thanks for the privilege of serving you and being part of this great community all these years!

A few suggestions:

- Do not expose your email address on your web pages!
There are scanners out there that do nothing but parsing websites for email addresses so they can be used for sending SPAM.
You should really take the time and implement a "contact me" form that uses some sort of script (cgi etc.) to send you an email.

- Turn off "Directory browsing" !!!
Apache always has this turned on by default (don't ask me why). You should really disable this as it allows people to access all your folders under your web-servers root and freely browse through the files.

Change your thumbnail (preview) pictures from 300dpi to 72dpi.

There's really no need for the high resolution on those, it just slows down the display of those images.

Dang! It looks like you've added some content since I last looked. Thanks for the great resource.
