This term is meant affectionately for those cars that have had custom styling that may not have come out quite like the designer had planned (I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt here). My own car is a work-in-progress and very well may deserve to end up on this page when it’s done. The following are pictures of cars I’ve come across on the net either from Ebay or other websites. The names have been removed to protect the guilty fiberglassers.

The 9014 – Good concept. The Porsche 904 is a legendary limited production mid-engine racer. The 914 is a more attainable counterpart. Why not re-skin the 914 to look like the more sexy 904? Forget the fact that the cars are dimensionally very different. It’s like saying “a 911 has the engine in the back, and a VW bus has the engine in the back; let’s put a 911 body on a VW bus frame.” Well, you be the judge.

The 914 Trike – The motor driven tricycle is man’s way of saying “I’m a bad biker boy with a big butt!” If you want to get noticed at the next slaw-wrestling event you should have bought this fine trike during one of its 6 auctions on Ebay.

Where’s the 914? – This car was listed on Ebay as a 914 with a custom body kit. It’s so custom I can’t see any of the original car and am a little suspect that it might be a VW bug kit (the wheelbase looks too short). Still, other, uh, “attributes” make it seem worthy of this page.

If you have an ugly 914 or just pictures of someone else’s, please send them (along with any information) to me. Thanks!
