Due to the West Coast rally being postponed I thought we could do a June So Cal Rally.
Teeners from San Diego, the I.E, OC, L.A, Riverside and beyond are all invited to attend.
We had a great turn out last week for the O.C event so let’s keep it going.

DATE: JUNE 6th

We will have two meet up spots for Teeners.
Meet up spot one in Corona.......Route one
Meet up spot two in Temecula....Route two

Route one meet up spot 7:30am
McDonalds 1215 Magnolia Ave Corona. Off the 15 fwy
We will caravan to Route two meet up spot and meet them at 8:30am
Route two meet up spot 8:30am
In Out Burger 30697 Temecula pkwy. Temecula
9:00am Drive Hwy 78 to the 371, take Hwy 371 to Hwy 74
Eat lunch at the Mountain center cafe then continue on the 74 to Hwy 79.
Run ends at the Starbucks 41195 Winchester Rd. Next to 15 fwy.

Can someone make a map to post and any teeners who are familiar with this Route please chime in for other cool stops along the way. Also post up if you can go. Same CV19 precautions as last week will be in place. Bring a collapsible chair.

FYI...2020 WCR not cancelled, just postponed.

This little mini SoCal drive will suffice for now.

Can't wait for 2020 WCR.

Most routes from Vegas to Cali. take me across the Mojave Desert, thru Barstow and Victorville.
Route 66 crosses the Mojave Desert going thru Barstow and Victorville.

The drive to this So Cal Rally could be an excellent opportunity to continue the Route 66 Classic tradition.



The Plan: Leave my house at 3:30 AM. No Hotel. No Meals. No Gas Stops. Piss break in Barstow. Arrive in Corona at 7:30 AM. Celebrate the accomplishment with a drive to Mount Palomar with my friends. Who wants to join me?

I am going to gather the 914 Desert Rats and join you somewhere along the way.

on 79, there is the Ricardo Breceda sculpture garden. good stop for pics.

On 371, there is the Cahuilla Casino, which is a good stop for pics too. mountain backdrop, rock outcroppings. the Casino is about 35 minutes from your in n out burger Temecula start so I think we could meet you there.

OK, someone needs to step up and do a nor cal rally. I just put on an air cooled cruise last weekend, about 65 cars and great roads. Not sure people want to come up to the Sacramento area and head up into the foothills.

To avoid city driving I'll meet up with ya'll at Sage Rd & the 79 S. BTW, First page reads 78 to 361. SB 79S to 361. There are 2 Hi Way 79's in Temecula. The other is 79N. If you want to do a group photo there is an abandoned business on that corner with a parking lot. You can check it out on google "Earth View".

Absolutely, come join us. PLEASE...Probably several better halves that I know of thus far. Not sure what the plan is for lunch, so I'm bringing a cooler with sandwiches. water, and of course, diet pepsi. I'm grouchy when I'm hungry. (Oscar the grouch)

Good afternoon 914 World. I have had at least 1 914 parked in my garage for over 10 years now and have used them as my DD for the most part. I currently have 2 in the garage and a rusty parts car in the back 40. I have met some of you through parts and car sales and at the Rusty Parts Swap Meets. So far I have never joined in on a run and I think it is about time. I think I have my wife talked into joining me for this run. I have some questions. My wife wants to know if she will be the only better half there? The plan is to have lunch at Mountain Center Cafe. Are we sure they will be open during this craziness or should we pack a lunch just in case? Will there be T-shirts for the event and if so do I need to pre-order? I also have a friend from Lancaster that is thinking about it as well. Not sure which meet spot we will join up at but as long as I get the day off we are planning on it and looking forward to it. Thanks.

From one Desert Rat to another welcome. My wife usually goes on these runs with me. I Personally would pack a lunch. I have been in contact with MC cafe and will provide better info as we get closer. Even if they can accommodate us there’s no way we could get 30 plus people feed in a timely manner. No T shirts, Corona is your best bet to meet up.

1. short sleeve or Long Sleeve?
2. color shirts?
3. Design?

I was thinking maybe we can print all of he screen names on the back kind of like a rock shirt.

Seven days, gentlemen (& ladies)

This is shaping up into a pretty fun event, and I'll be glad to see my Porsche friends. My car came home after a few electrical hiccups. A cracked fuse block was wreaking havoc along with some ground issues. I'm ready.

Hello Everyone,
Looks like I get a little extra time off that weekend so I'm in if its not to late? I will be coming down on Friday night from Vegas and staying somewhere close to Temecula. I will join up with the group on route two on Saturday morning. I have the trailer ready to go, just need to find a room (one that is trailer friendly) for me and the misses.
Are there any shirts still available?

Hi Al, I don’t think there will be selling of parts at the Route 2 meet up since it will be just a 30 minutes (based on the schedule) to meet there and continue driving again. You can come earlier there since other members will be waiting there ahead of time.

If you need parts, maybe you can make a separate message and if someone has that part(s) that they can sell you and are going to the event, they can just bring it with them.

So with everything going on down there I could use some advice of were a good place to stay would be. We have had some great offers to stay with friends and we really appreciate that. We would like to stay at a nice hotel to still do as much social distancing as we can. With curfews and chaos being what it is we would love your suggestions.

After lunch the drive to our ending location Starbucks 41195 Winchester rd is approx 42 miles.

If there are any other must see stops let’s work that out at the Casino stop and not on this thread.

You may want to bring a folding chair especially for a place to sit while eating lunch.
Also consider packing a lunch. The MC Cafe can only seat 20 people outside due to CV restrictions. Take out food is not a problem but if your number 45 in a line of 60 people you probably won’t see your food tell 2pm......just saynnnnn

Make sure you have a full gas tank, bring lots of water, sunscreen ect. ect. ect.

Please be respectful to those of us who wear mask and elect to participate in social distancing. Elbow handshakes

For those driving other then 914s please park away from us at the casino. This is for Photo and video purposes only.

If someone wants to print out a route map to hand out then please go for it.

Just scouted the stop at Cahuilla casino.

They have a great area set aside for us to stage and take pics. When arriving there, just drive right up to the front of casino and around to lower park area. I will be there to direct you. Casino said security staff will guide you as well.
They have a big new gas station, that also has take out drinks, chicken and pizza. So you can get your supplies there if necessary.

Be aware that right after the casino, we drive through Anza where speed limit drops to 45, and the CHP is ALWAYS there to nab anyone.

Here's a google map with step by step directions that should work on any phone.

It starts from the Corona stop. If you are starting from the In-N-Out location, just remove the first stop:

Well that was fun. Great to see old friends and new as well. Thx are in order for Greg aka CoonDog. Though the skies were ominous we never saw a drop of water from Temecula and on. There were no breakdowns (that I know of) so the event was obviously ordained by the 914 Gods. Thx again Greg and we'll see ya'll at the GnR next.

As it was, I put on about 175 miles today coming home from Pismo Beach. At one point my right front wheel was making some noise so I pulled over and touched the hub and it was hot! Driver side just warm so I think I have to give the front wheel bearings some TLC. Made it home and all is good. Great picture Bruce with the wide angle....you guys had a blast! THANK YOU to all who attended our drive this morning. Special shout out to all the new faces, from Santa Barbara, San Diego area, Palm Springs, Vegas, etc…. I saw nothing but smiles throughout the day, plus some beautiful cars. Water pumpers were well represented too. It was odd trying to social distance, wearing mask, not hugging or shaking hands, however I couldn’t have had a better time. All of you ROCK. And in my thoughts today were also those who couldn’t make it for whatever reason, local or distant. SUPER special shout out to Matt of 914Rubber….dude was everywhere with his camera or drone. Thank you for supporting us.

Finally, Chucky was well behaved most of the day with the exception of our drive to Temecula from Corona. On our way down the 15 fwy three 911 GT3’s came up upon me quickly while I was attempting to eat a sandwich my wife prepped. Out of nowhere they prodded me with downshifting. Needless to say, I put my sandwich down and showed them my taillights. Bad Chucky…. Bad Chucky…

Guys and Gals…we need more outings like today. Blood pressure dropped 20 points today!!!

Thank you Coondog and everyone else who made this event happen. This was our first run with World members and Kathleen and I had a blast. I doubt I even met half of those who attended but it was great to meet everyone we did and see some really cool cars. We look forward to the next run so we can meet more of you. My car had a heck of a noise that I think is a rear wheel bearing but we made it back to Oak Hills and none of the hubs were overly hot so not sure. We left the café early and went through Idyllwild to get home and save miles in case a bearing did give up. That is a pretty cool drive, we should do a quick trip there sometime. I'm not sure what I expected but it wasn't that

THE MOST 914's I've ever seen in one place in my life and it was incredible!!!!

So many new people and cars I've never seen in person, I don't even think I got to see everyone that was there.

Really cool to see and meet Matt from 914rubber

I think I did a bit over 200 miles and strangely have what appears to be over 1/2 a tank of gas left, won't really know if that's "real" until I fill up. Car ran perfect all day without issues, in fact, didn't seem that anyone really had any issues that left them roadside which, in itself, is freaking awesome

Hope everyone had as good a time as I did

The roads around Malibu are really frustrating on weekends as well - I haven't seen a ton of cops actually but the bicyclists plus the heavy car and motorcycle traffic make it impossible to have a fun time driving. Just after dawn on weekdays is the best time for open roads.

Huge thank you to Matt and all the guys at 914Rubber. Matt took a bunch of pictures at the So Cal June Rally at a bend in the road as we were all driving by that were very artistic and cool. I asked Matt if he could send me the picture of my car in a higher resolution so I could put it on canvas and hang it in the garage. It took him about a week to respond to the PM and his answer was "surprise". What the heck did that mean Matt??? A few days after his unusual reply, UPS showed at my door with a canvas print of my car of the picture I was asking about. It was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. Next time Matts' in Vegas dinner and drinks on me. The 914 community is so awesome.

Huge thank you to Matt and all the guys at 914Rubber. Matt took a bunch of pictures at the So Cal June Rally at a bend in the road as we were all driving by that were very artistic and cool. I asked Matt if he could send me the picture of my car in a higher resolution so I could put it on canvas and hang it in the garage. It took him about a week to respond to the PM and his answer was "surprise". What the heck did that mean Matt??? A few days after his unusual reply, UPS showed at my door with a canvas print of my car of the picture I was asking about. It was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. Next time Matts' in Vegas dinner and drinks on me. The 914 community is so awesome.
