Never thought I would like this color on a 914, but damn this one looks nice.

My first 914 was a brand new '73 2.0 Appearance Group in Sepia Brown with the cork colored interior. Loved that car. Bought it from Ely Porsche Audi in Hayward on Mission.

It really does seem to work on this car! Sepia is a love it or hate it polarizing kind of color and generally i do not love it. But there were probably not many made in this color i would bet...

We restored a ‘76 930 to that color. Sort of cool period correct color but not my first choice.

For every repainted 911 i will show you 50% of them were originally brown.

It's interesting that Sepia, aka "sale-proof-brown", is now a desirable color. I think it looks good.

In 73 and 74 Porsche made the dealers a special on paint to sample. The owners wife went hog wild, a lot of neat colors. One wasn't, best described as Mary Kay pink. Sat out back forever. Finally took to dropping the price every month until it went away.
