I've been thinking lately about using the V8 that i want in it. I've come to the realization that maybe I don't need the power of a V8 to have some fun with this car. OK maybe I want power, but it's the trade offs that I'm worried about. Things like tranny life because of the torque a V8 gives out, the added weight and my obsession with using exotic parts on an old V8 block making it a very expensive endeavor. What am I to do? Lately i've been looking at the Subaru wrx sti conversions. I've been rummaging the database for the subaru conversions and it looks like the subaru is probably the best bang for the buck. It's lighter than the V8. It's capable of pretty good horsepower. And most of all I can probably use it as a daily driver, with the price of gas it'll probably get me better gas mileage than the V8 or my pickup truck for that matter.
