Well since september 22nd I'm officially a Master of Science a good excuse for a drunk.gif
After this hectic period I had some time to play with the welder welder.gif The results can be seen in the pics below.

The past few weeks there's not been any progress either on the 914 or the beetle. The only progress I'm making is on my graduation project.
In 5 weeks I'll be a MSc Industrial Design Engineering, there's a lot that still needs to be done but I have faith givemebeer.gif
But between al the studying I did manage to score a Tamiya M02L chassis Porsche Carrera style, rearwheel drive and the twisty rims :schwinggg: what ever trips your trigger I guess. Now I have to explain to my room mates why I buy RC toys WTF.gif

check the pics below, if anybody is interested, I now have 2 obsolete 911 body's for the M02L chassis biggrin.gif

Enough bs.gif let's get back to work
Have a good one beerchug.gif

Last weekend I used the welder for the first time, that was pretty sweet I can tell ya, I was burning holes through sheetmetal like crazy welder.gif
This weekend I practiced some more and my the hole burning skill developed in actually bonding two pieces of metal together, it was time to switch to the beetle and start burning holes in there.
Eventualy I succeeded in getting some sheetmetal in, definately not the pretiest of welds but wit a lot of dressing with a grinder they will come out OK at the end.
But man I'm so proud of myself.. except for the little miscalculation of the piece behind the door... cut it one cm short, so had to fill it with a small strip spank.gif

But the doorgaps are perfect, doors fit and close, with a new door rubber installed so thats good boldblue.gif

Enjoy the horror of my first welds clap56.gif

Last weekend I have been busy removing some crusty old metal to eventually replace it with crispy clean and fresh metal.
Enjoy the pics.

Well we got the suspension off the teener and put the car aside.
We used the car lift to mount the car to the rotisserie and then we could remove it from the carlift, pretty cool cool_shades.gif

And some shots from the little storage room.

Got the first drive in this weekend man, it was such a blast smilie_pokal.gif

Some progress on the project front. The project teener can rotate in mid air, pretty cool sight.
Now the suspension will be taken off and then it will be put aside to make room for my beetle, finally!
Enjoy the pics.

I thought I had an agreement with my dad <_< ...
after we had fixed the orange 914 my beetle would have first rights to be on the car lift.
But o boy how fast can things change!
We have moved the project 914 into the spot that was destined for my bug!
But no fear we are stripping it down and will be mounting it on a rotisserie.

The stripping is almost done, just some really small odds and ends on the inside and the suspension from underneath.
There are a couple of shitty PO repairs on the longs both inside and out but overall this tub looks pretty good for a purely european tub that has never (properly) been restored.

In my quest for new parts for the project car I came across a set of NOS transmission mounts, I've got them at a very good price aktion035.gif The parts stash is really building up, it will be pretty cool to start putting the project back together but oh boy that will be a long way from now biggrin.gif

Our teener had a broken torsion bar. We fixed it with a spare one we had laying around.

smilie_pokal.gif Happy moment at my parents place smilie_pokal.gif

My dad and I finally finished the car lift in our garage. It was actually the first restoration we carried out in our own garage.
On friday night we raised it for the first time, and many more will follow!
Right now the teener is on it, notice the sad stance of the front wheel. After we have fixed this we will be get my beetle and get that one on the road.
When that's done we have a project teener that has been waiting for a lot of TLC.
Lot's to do, but step 1 was succesfull, man that feels good! aktion035.gif

cheers beerchug.gif
