06-17-2006 I blasted the trailing arms and got them ready for paint by treating them with phosphoric acid (THE MUST FOR RUST) which leaves a protective phosphate coating. These will be painted with POR15 and topcoated with Rustoleum Satin Black. Note the trailing arms are modified for 911 e-brakes. Also I fitted the Header Spacers. 06-15-2006 I modified my headers and got them ready to ship out for ceramic coating at JetHot. I added sealing sleeves at the heads (similar ot the stock heat exchangers). The sleeves protect the gaskets and help prevent them from blowing out. I added similar sleeves to the exits of the collectors and also the exits of the extension tubes. I installed the head sealing rings extra tall so they would work with my spacers between my headers and the heads. The spacers provide extra clearance between the valve covers and the headers. The headers I used are 1 3/4" European Racing Headers from George Narbel. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
06-14-2006 I got the engine installed and only took a couple of pics. My goal is to get it running in less than a month from now!
06-01-2006 No new pics. I had surgery on 05-26-2006 that has prevented me from doing much on the car. I will be back at it soon. I have the brakes to finish, the engine to install, and the headers need to be sent out for ceramic coating (after I fit them up and verify that they fit correctly). Keep a lookout for future posts... |
