So I finally bit the bullet and bought a 914 off of ebay. I've only been waiting 15 years or so to have one in the garage. I must say that it feels good. After 23 hours and 1100 miles I had hauled it from Ohio to South Carolina and couldn't wait to start pulling parts off. My plan is to take this thing down to nothing and then go over it piece by piece. I still haven't decided if I am going to stick with the 2.0 engine in it or go full out for a suby conversion. The good thing is that I have plenty of time to think about that. I'm sure I'll be busy with body and metal work for a good while. I have decided for the moment that I want to paint it silver. I have also decided that I have to do something different with the front bumper because I just don't like all the rubber on the front end of the '76.

So this is but the begining of my journey. I know that it will be a good one..... and I'll take lots of pics along the way.
