So after a bit of time with the new motor installed in the car these are my conslusions:

With the 96mm piston set up the car has more torque.
The engine so far is performing very well, no oil leaks at all.
So far I'm very pleased with the results.

Will keep you updated.

Well I got my 2 cases back and now its time to start rebuilding my engine. This time I'm going with 96mm pistons. The 94mm Euros will go on the other engine build. I'm going to use the NOS case that I picked up recently for 50 bucks. Case has never been used. Pics included.

Got my case back from Rimco yesterday, looks good. Had a couple of cracks repaired and line bored. Now I have two perfectly good cases to build engines into.

Will take some pics of the cases, the one I got back from rimco is now being cleaned to make sure there are no metal shavings left in the case.

When I start to reassemble the engine, this time I'm going with 96mm pistons and cylinders. Gonna put the 94mm Euros on the other engine.

I have a friend whose garage that I've been using to disassemble my engine and get a few things on the engine straightened out on the engine. First thing is that the case need to have some work done on it. The beginning of Nov. I send a case off to Calif. to have some work done on it. My friend has a friend that he use to work with at a Porsche dealership 30 years ago, they keep in touch once in a while. So last week my friend calls me and tells me he had heard from an old friend of his that he use to work with at the porsche dealership.

My friend tells this guy that he's helping a friend of his with his 914 and tells him about having to send a case off to Calif. to have some work done it. This guys tells my friend that he has a new Porsche 914 case in his garage and has had it for over 30 years and has never been used.

Long story short, he brought the case over to my friends garage and I bought it for 50 bucks, thats all he was asking for it. Its a GA case with the duel oil pressure relief valves. So now I have an unused GA case to build a motor. I'm a lucky dog for finding this. This guys tells my friend that he has some more new parts and will bring them over for me to take a look at. Can't wait to see what else this guys has.

How many new cases ya think would be out there hiding somewhere. piratenanner.gif

Got some pictures of the work that was done on my heads, the work that shouldn't have been necessary if Rimco had done the job right in the first place.

Well I had to have the heads reworked, all the valves in the heads leaked, the machine work that was done on the heads by Rimco was terrible. Cost me a couple hundred bucks more to get the valves and the seats reground. I wouldn't recommend to anyone to have Rimco do any of your head work, its second rate at best. They will never do any work on another set of heads that I own.

Took the car out for a 50 mile spin, the car is running great, this thing has a lot of pep to it. Once the rings seat I imagine it will be even better. Looks like I might have a small oil leak around the oil pump area. No problem will get that fixed on monday.

Engine has been fired up, had a small problem with the FI wiring harness got that all straightened out and the car fired right up. Ran the engine long enough to break in the cam.
