Still needs all over lovin but the rims look right now. Have to fit the body parts on better, repaint all the exterior & eventually weld a roof on. Also working on a Tan interior & rust repair. All for the love of the Teeners. Insanity! I included 3 shots of how she looked when I bought her. Note the old ill fitting front spoiler & rockers. I also hate spoilers on the trunk, don't care if they work or not... IMO they're ugly biggrin.gif .

Too much on my plate so I find the most ridiculous ways of procrastinating. I've got as far as rebuilding the innerds of the horn trigger, mounting a genuine 356 Porsche crest in the centre pad, (I flattened it), & got the leather around the steering wheel. I haven't felt like stiching so I plopped on some new, (reconditioned 944 rims), wheels & tires onto the six. I used the calculator here on "the world" & mounted 215s in the front & 225s in the back. When I first bought the six, "Sir Andy" told me I needed wheel spacers up front & I agreed. So instead of stiching my steering wheel cover I poped off my calipers, undid the spacers from them, hammered out the old studs using a nut to protect them & hammered in new, longer welmeister studs. Put it back together, packed in new grease & added 21mm 944 spacers on top of the stock ones that are bolted to the rotors. I like the wide look & so does the car. Cheap Falken tires but she feels/rides great. I call that useful, instead of useless, procrastination biggrin.gif . Drove both cars today, washed them both as well. I lost 4lbs in that 90 degree heat washing. Left front rotor on the four is locking up. If I take it apart, clean & lube it maybe I'll get lucky. Otherwise, I burned up a rotor today headbang.gif . We'll see.

Alan Gunn may do excellent work but he's a bullshitter on the phone, period. I ordered a leather cover for the latter 914 rubber steering wheel back at the begining of March & it's now the end of April & calling him is either a BS hit or just a plain miss. Originally it was supposed to be mailed to me on March 13th stromberg.gif . Now I'm told he mailed it to me 2 weeks ago now barf.gif . If I don't get it by the end of this week I'll be contesting the charge on my CC bill. Here's some more photos of minor progress. Got my bearing press in place at last.

edit- Yesterday, May 2nd, I opened my mailbox & lo & behold a package from Alan Gun, mailed out parcel post on Saturday 28th, not Priority Mail on Wednesday the 25th as he promised me on the phone. I placed this order on March 9th. I don't enjoy badmouthing someone but I will not stand still when I know I've been lied to. I don't lie & if you're lazy & forgot something admit it & be a man... don't bullshit someone. Missing one screw & once I got that I'll start my steering wheel project... my interpretation of a 914GT/RSR restomod steering wheel.

I hate unpacking but I do like decorating gargages my way biggrin.gif . With the exception of the Playboy centerfold I shot all the girls. Yes, I'm a bachelor laugh.gif . It's one thing to mix cheesecake w/ Porsches' but when you actually make the cheesecake it's a whole different ball of wax happy11.gif . Heavy oak pollen in the Delmarva portion of the US now so it's best to keep the cars covered, even in the garage.

Been neglegting the teeners as of late dealing w/ the rest of my stuff & the big move into the new house. Nice to be able to just leave them covered in the garage. Plan on doing a mini segment on the rebuilding of my "new" steering wheel for the six. Photos & thread to start as soon as I have all the components lined up. Mr. Gunn sure takes his time w/ everything & is a serious telephone BS'er. One screw & the actual leather kit & I will make myself a sort of stock looking RSR steering wheel.

I remembered that this blog is an attempt to document the construction/assembly of my 914 room. So after hauling a bunch of loads from storage I got lucky & managed to shoot some photos today after taking a shower & drinking some coffee. Somehow all this clutter is progress. Now if I can find the keys to my tool chests headbang.gif I'll be able to procrastinate from all my other duties & tweek some teeners biggrin.gif . Yes those are the factory manuals on top of a covered Mnatasha & thats a trashbag full of clean rags sitting on top of a covered Knikki. High pollen in the spring forces one to cover the Teeners even inside a garage mad.gif .

I have DSL @ the new pad & I'm up & it's fast. Did some more moving from Rockville to New Market today in the Truck. Also pulled a run on my storage unit. Busy day. Not organized in any way, just sorting out parts between the four & the six. Snapped this pic of Knikkis' interior showing 47,557 original miles. Also snapped this shot of an original Dunlop 165/15 on my original, un-repainted spare. Councours baby biggrin.gif ! Not. More storage runs tomorrow. Oh what fun headbang.gif ! Notice the dash material comming off of the radio surround chair.gif .

Well once again I'm here & was not expecting to be. Perhaps this will be my last entry for a while as the "Twins" are home. Everything else I have to do now won't be so Porsche related so maybe I will be absent a few days biggrin.gif .

I did something today I have not done in quite some time, years now. I drove 2 different teeners in one day, one right after the other. Wow! What fun!
driving.gif aktion035.gif piratenanner.gif rocking nana.gif smilie_pokal.gif shades.gif! First I drove the six 120 miles to my new house. Solid, loud, fast & the temp never went over 215. Then I went to my secret location & picked up the LE, started her up after a 5 month slumber. A bit rough at first but she worked it out & ran like a car w/ 47.5k miles. I immediately noticed the differences between the two- step on the gas in the 4 & I asked myself "where's the power"? Big difference between the two, @ least 100bhp. I got news that shocked me though- the 4 will out handle the six, period. My LE is so much lighter than my six. It is nimble & wicked fast- responsive compared to the six. I was stunned & grinning all day happy11.gif .

I enjoyed the company of a 19 yr old goddess named Melodie today. Mel is a local Nopi Chic who also works at the body shop my friend Mark ownes. She was the one following behind in her car, packed w/ my stromberg.gif , twice today. My God I've turned into a dirty old man laugh.gif !
