Being my first teener, I never imagined things would go this far. I broke down and cut my quarter panel to get the necessary room to replace the lower part of the wheel house and jack post area.

I still have plenty of rust removal, prep, and metal fab work to go, but I have been inspired by the classic post "digging in to hell." After looking through that several dozen times, I realize that my car isn't in the worst (original) shape compared to so many others I've seen here. Here's a few pics of my recent time spent in the garage.

I welded my passenger long today. Roof gaps are dead nuts on factory spec. By suggestion of the local "Porsche Guru" who is rebuilding my motor, he suggested doing it in "half." I got the long in, but need to finish cleaning up some of the welds. I need to pull my son's driver in the garage for repairs next week. After that, I will cut the rear quarter and finish the wheelhouse/engine compartment section.

Hi Gang,

I've never blogged before. I thought I'd give it a try and post a pic of my project so I could link to the VIN section. If I ever figure out how this whole thing works, maybe I'll post some pics of my lousy welding..... welder.gif
