Ouch! I just saw the pics. I'm glad you are resurrecting it. Labor is so expensive in the US, especially here in California, and supply of cars in better shape that something like your car would likely be retired. Everything is relative. Good luck on the project. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

good to hear your 914 story. we've been getting to know a few 914ers thru this club and they are a good group, we all need to pitch in and put this 914 back on the road. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif)

Wish I stil had PICS of my 68 911T Targa. It was my first Porsche. I spent a year putting it together with a friend's help. I drove it 50 miles (80 Kms.) on 450 mile test drive. I let me friend drive the rest of the way due to a toothache. On the return trip, we heard a loud BOOM!. The next few seconds of conversation occured while we were rolling two times before flipping end over onto a small tree 20 feet down the side of the highway. The car was destroyed. Looked like your car on every surface. We landed a quarter of a mile from the point of impact.

Drunk driver in a virtually undamaged Jeep. He did not have enough insurance. He eventually paid a year's worth of his salary to cover the difference.

Good luck with the court.

Attached ImageDror...Welcome to the club , lots of interesting things going on here !
I did see a U.N. soldier in a blue 911 Targa in Tel Aviv around 1974...but no 914s.
I'd trade rides in my biturbo 9146 for a ride in a Merkava (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hey Kenny
Basically they are the same as the European 914 so it would be Kmh, backlights were with the ember turn signals.
Probably there are more things I’m not an expert on this.

Welcome to the Club!

I'm not too far away - I'm in the Sinai! Where are you, if I can ask?

Glad there's another 914 fan in this crazy part of the world!

cheers,

Thanks for asking. Testament to the strength Porsche body and that Targa bar, we did not suffer any serious injury. There was no undamaged part visible on the body. After all that, the door still opened. I know seatbelts saved my life that day. The contents of the locked glovebox was scattered all over the road. He hung safely upside down by our belts. Even luckier still, the early 911's did not have the headrests like Dror's 914 (trying not to hijack this thread -- bad choice of words maybe for Dror's region). The seatbacks snapped and broke so we did not suffer any whiplash either.

A big welcome to you! I am pleased to see you are restoring your teener, I don't often get to see pictures of one in as bad of shape as mine! I have been spending much enjoyable time working on it and look forward to the day when I drive out of my driveway! Sorry about what is happening in your beautiful country, stay alert and safe! By the way how much is 1 litre of gas in Israel now?

Thanks for all
You can send a photo of yours we can compare bad news (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)
One liter of gas here in Israel is about $1.3
I heard that in the U.K. it's close to 1 pound (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif)
