The dude who's building it for me told be about the CF shortage a few weeks ago. He got a decent supply so we're off and running. I get the first one and Chris Foley gets the second.

The fog light openings will be flush (cut to fit if desired) and we're still talking about the big center 916-style oil cooler opening. It may go away if there's any aero penalty for it. We're looking at it in a CFD program to find out.

Not sure about final price yet, but because of the shortage the price has increased from a few months ago. I'll ask about FG, that's a good question.

best one is the 1st mod'd 944 bumper cover.....the 2nd one with the horizontal slots looks cheap....

funny, I liked the second one (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) 'course I am by all means cheap

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Same here. First one has it's mouth open (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) and second looks more refined to me. We all have different tastes. Looking forward to seeing what you do Andyrew.

I dunno now, some of those shots make me think of this pic, especially the last one, like the car is saying "Oh my" or "Oh no". Must be scared of that V8 pow-ah (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

i, personally, like the idea of a pragmatic air dam.

lots of air for brakes and engine cooling.

and some FAT aux lights for those late night mountain runs. =-)

Hey, looking at the shot a couple up, adding the 944 lights into the bumper helps break it up nicely and detract from that "smiley face" look. Has me thinking - what about putting square headlamps in there in similar fashion, then loose the PITA pop-ups and eyebrows that never stay in place very well and just run a fiberglass lid that covers the whole area (no headlight buckets). Wouldn't need the orange lights as you have turnsigs already in the fenders.

Maybe I will do this with my tube car... got me thinking... would be easier than piecing the headlights and motors back in... just graft into the Sheridan bumper...

Ever tried to use GIMP instead of Photoshop?
for download:
http://www.gimp.org/
GIMP is great. It is GNU software and can be used in Windows or Linux.
It's free too. Try version 2.2.1 or later.
Messing around with your pix for a couple of minutes and came up with this if the photo thing works for me.

Cooltimes
Memphis.

Photo didn't do so I put it on my page.

Is sort of funny isn't it but the idea was to show you can get GIMP, a free piece of quality software much like PhotoShop and in 5 minutes start to alter appearances even if you are a colorblind 70 year old dummy like me. :-) If you look at the photo closely, the center section, partially under the layer of yellow sprackel, you will see dozens of the green bell peppers pasted into the black netmesh. To top it out, I used the Filter menu, Artist filter and chose cartoon which I think made the whole thing fun to do so I agree with you. It made me laugh too.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif) Whoah dude. I see it. Wow. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif)

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) Just teasin' GIMP is cool if you can't afford Photoshop, and spanks Paint. But MsPaint is quick and dirty because it's on all the Windoze computers already and most people don't want to deal with researching, downloading, and learning new programs. I use Photoshop, but I understand why Andyrew is using Paint. And it's getting his concepts across.... with the huge benefit of some laughs for all!! Lest see if we can blow some new life into this thread (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I loaned a f/g 951 bumper from my friendly mechanic, just to see how things fit right out of the box
So I slapped the rest of the plastic-fantastic bodywork on her and pushed her out of the garage to have a better look

I like the look of the 951 bumper on the 914, and the top curve of the bumper matches the curve of the front hood dead on
I also like how it could be made nice and short (as in how far it sticks out of the car in the front), shorter than an the blue one
Resulting in very little overhang, which is good in case of speedbumps etc.

I'm not too concerned about stretching it a little of getting the overall curve to match, but getting the corners to fit the 914 fenders (right under the signal lights) looks like a PITA

I like the idea of matching the fenders to the bumper, instead of matching the bumper to the fenders (so the side fo the bumper reaches all the way to the wheel arch, like in the pics)

I like the look, but I think it's going to be a lot of work to make it all fit
So I'm still undecided...

Anyway, here's some pics
(nevermind the fugly, crappy fitting, cut up 916 rear bumper (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif))
