I was looking at how my car sat in the garage and thought it had too much downward "rake" so I raised the front about 3/8". Then I realigned the headlights and took her for a spin. Much better now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

What a beauty! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Got those seat base springs on finally. I screwed it to a piece of wood, through the holes where the frame bolts to the hinges. On the other end of the piece of wood I put an eye bolt. I used a turn buckle and steel wire to connect the eye bolt to the spring. I used vice grips to keep the wire tight as I turned the turn buckle to draw the spring over and past the hole. Then I just dropped the roll pin in place and loosened the turn buckle. Vice grips worked well to pull the wire out from where it is pinched between the spring and the roll pin. Easy

Hand throttle rod hanger bracket ready.
Rod here on Monday, then I can add the tab to
the throttle bell crank in the pedal cluster.

Just wasn’t driving it much, and couldn’t justify keeping it in storage. I’ll be focusing on its big brother, and finishing my Jeep restoration.

It looks new. An old friend had a 1965 and it was a very capable truck.
The background looks like a good place to have a Jeep. Nice job. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, it was not my 914 but it is a Porsche. My 928 has to be smoged every 2 years. $80 extra plus the reg cost.

Took her out for a ride to the Folsom (CA) Cars 'n Coffee. Nice 45 minute ride there. This is a new location from the last time we attended. A whole lot of cars at this event, guessing 250+. I snapped 1 photo...sorry guys. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Pulled her out of the basement garage after a two year slumber.

Originally pulled the engine to install crank sensor wheel (which I did) but never got the rest of the MS system installed due to life events and lack of motivation. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Didn't want to attend another Okteenerfest without a 914 last fall, so I popped the dual carbs back on but didn't get it running in time. So it sat for a few more months til a couple weekends ago when I dug it out of the garage and moved it to the carport. I figured if I saw it every day, I'd work on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Got the ignition and fuel systems hooked up and engine running a couple weekends ago and this past weekend got it timed and driving. Drove to work (about 5 miles each way) today. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
Got home this evening and adjusted the clutch. Brakes need to be bled and plan to do that later this week.

Got the tab made for the bell crank. Didn’t want to give it a chance to flex.
Now I need the pedal cluster out.

Getting ready to install a "new" rebuilt alternator in my '73. Reasonably easy when just removing part of the front engine sheet metal...Attached Image Attached Image

I’ll find a bronze rebuild kit for the pedal cluster. It’s time.
