Anyone in the SF Bay interested in a caravan to WCR? Meet up with the Sacramento crowd and haul ass to Tahoe.

Who's in?

Leave Thursday morning 9am from Southland mall, Hayward, CA. Hwy 880 West Winton exit in front of Sears (corner of Southland Dr. & La Playa Dr.) Drive to Antioch for a brief stop at McDonalds (Hwy 160/4 @ Main St.) we will pick some more guys here. We should be in Antioch at 9:40am. Anyone from the valley can meet up with us at Hwy 160/12 intersection near Rio Vista. From there we take the 160 delta Highway to Sacramento. I-5 North to 50 East. We exit at Hazel/Nimbus Rd. North around 11:15am. We will meet up with the Sac crew at Chevron there and re fuel. From there we cut over to Hwy 88 and drive the twisties to Stateline Nevada and our destination.

This link will take you to google maps and the route. Anyone is welcome to join at any part of the route. If you have GMRS walkie talkies bring them. The caravan channel will be 9-14. The times are approximate. This will be a fun drive and not a balls out race to get there first. There are 2-3 small delta towns we have to travel through slowly and a few on Hwy 88. No body wants a ticket, right?

The "official" stopping points are: A, B, F, G. Anyone can jump in at any time during the route.
A= Starting point, Southland Mall, Hayward CA, it front of Sears.
B= Antioch McDonalds, Main St exit from Hwy 160/4.
F= Hazel exit from Hwy 50. Meet at Chevron on the North side.
G= Jackson Hwy 88. Parking lot right side just before our left turn to Tahoe.
Map below has been updated for these stops.

Sac to Tahoe is only a couple hours, so no reason not to go on a fun drive.

Have yet to drive my car ever, but WCR is the goal. And that is exactly how I'd like to roll (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Perhaps a drive up 160, the delta highway.

That would be a very fun run. I'm only a few parts away (and a test drive) from a full commitment!

I'm thinking Thursday morning. Looking on the Map for a cool route.

Here are my thoughts...

Start at Southland Mall, Hayward 8-9am (880 & Winton Av.)
Make out way through Antioch to Hwy 160, ride up the delta
Follow 160 to Sacramento
Meet up with Sac guys
Haul ass to Harvey's

I'm open to better route ideas. This route will take about 4 hours to get there.

Sounds good to me...I'm planning on not working much so whenever you Bay Area guys get here I'm out...

I think Highway 50 is a nice drive or we can take the long way up 80 then 89 around the lake

Mikey...I would post a weekend caravan too. There are other guys who are only coming up for the weekend portion.

MIke- There are several places to stop on 50. My suggestion would be near el dorado hills. there is an off ramp that has a couple places to fill up plus I think Paul might join us there.

There's a little baseball park right off the freeway above El Dorado Hills in Cameron Park off the cambridge offramp. The parking lot should be empty on a thursday?

Mikey, I hope you get the time off, or at least can make it up for some of the event. I still haven't seen your car all together. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)
