I have these things on my fuel system, didn't realize that you just cut the hose, oil, and insert the end.

Are these things safe? Seems too easy.

I was planning on using these for my -12 oil lines.

They are great, I am using them on my 3.0 CIS engine to and from the gas tank, easy to work with and no pin pricked fingers the SS lines provide, I use a combination of both SS and socketless on my car.

Sounds great.

I am using the SS braid everywhere else, but the -12 lines that run from front to back are in the longitudinal with a battery cable. I don't want that ss rubbing on the battery cable, so the socketless hose should work out.

You have to use the socketless ends with only the correct hose. The long barbs and the precise fit holds it all together, no clamps or hacksaws.

I'll be re-routing these fuel lines soon but this is what they look like.

I dunno bout the socketless stuff.
Buy some and pressure test them up to 200 psi (or so) while applying heat to em'......for a couple hours.

Aeroquip already did that.

Assembly rated at 300deg continuous at 250 psi.

The AQP has the same temp rating but a much higher pressure margin, 500 => 1000 psi.

Jake said he has seen 300psi on very cold startup but I think the socketless is probably OK for a racecar, maybe not for a race airplane.
