I have an Racemark steeering wheel , the leather is shot and seems to be bubbling something from inside out.
So I attaked it with a band saw. Strange inards, U shaped steel channel ,rivetted to the spokes and then coated with a rubber like goo. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() |

So that is one big steel ring??? You will want to find some type of cover as it will burn your hands when you leave it parked in the sun.. Still, pretty cool, what does it weigh??

Its an aluminum tube . It is way lighter than the way it was. If I like it I am thinking about trying to stich up a leather cover .
In WA state i dont really have to worry about to much sun. |

So I just acquired the very same wheel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
Leather is good but the (Red) stitching is all but shot. It seems to suffer the same affliction as yours at the very top of the wheel where its seems to have swelled from the sun and popped the stitching ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Not sure what to do with it, looks very much like a Prototipo (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

It looks freakin great (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) !!! because of the thin spokes your steering wheel would be a perfect candidate for 'wheelskins' leather covering!! They sell them on ebay in whatever color, grip and overall diameter! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-Cayman-Whe...=item256de2ec6b |

How did you attach the aluminum tube to the steel center?
