I figure I will start the build thread. I have the 18 X18 X1 inch plate for the adapter I need to get this sent up to Rick so He can grind it into shape while I get the engine running consistantly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) I have already sold off some of the 928 parts to fund this thing. I will update this thread as we go along this pathway to fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

Cool.. but check your your archive pm's from Nov 7 2004, 08:03 AM. The aluminum should be 1/2". I thought you emailed me on 2004/11/14 Sun PM 07:13:02 That you had 18"X 18" X 0.5.
Just checking up on you. Are you planning on visting in January? |

Back to the drawing board... You'll need 1/2" Just bring the pan I should have a couple of 1/8" pieces of aluminum laying around here for the modification. Bring your transaxle If you want me to cut it. I'm still working on the cutting instructions If you want to take a stab at it yourself. |

Just a quick update on this car. It may not get the 928 motor. It might go in the Nuclear Banana instead I will know after I get it up on jacks. It may have floor pan problems and if so PLAN 9 would be a go for the v8. The flywheel made it on the second try now Ill box it up with the one form the 1.7 and ship them to Rick so he can do his thing to them. I will go see him the end of Jan and take the trans to cut it dowk and do the engine mount mod. I hope I remember how to dress for northern winters its been since 1984 that I lived in centeral Wis. Note to self put block heater in the Jetta. Nay way this is the flywheel I needed and some shots of the floor of the Banana

Jan 17 2005 I figure its time to bring this up to date. I have the engine out of the 928 I got from Scott out in Cal back at Thanksgiving time I am having to pull the heads off and take to a shop because some of the exhaust studs are broken off.

I have made the decision the engine is going into PLAN 9 as was the original plan. The Nuclear Banana is on hold untill this one is done. It will be parked sideways in the front of the doghouse as soon as the 928 is all apart and gone. I have a nice Momo seat coming and will post pics of it when it comes in.
