My car is black but parts of it are still yellow. So, does that make it "partially" fast? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

We all live in a yellow 914, a yellow 914, a yellow 914!!! Thank you for that. Now I'll be singing that in my head for the next week. Yellow cars always cost me a lot of $$$ because I have to immediately get them repainted not yellow. That's how I feel about red cars. Yellow I'm cool with. |

My car is black but parts of it are still yellow. So, does that make it "partially" fast? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I think the correct term is "half fast". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Back in 1969 my first car was a RED `68 Opel Kadett B 2dr Notchback with a measely 1.1L I-4 & not particularly fast, but I kept getting pulled over. So my Dad & I went to the neighbor who was a San Diego Police LT & asked why. He said that cops target bright colors - Red first, then Orange, Yellow, then any of the other bright Greens, Blues, Purples, etc. So the Cops then & now certainly think that color makes for a fast car! .... or at least a driver who likes those colors has a propensity to speed. So add radar/laser detectors & eyes in the back of your head folks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) This cop hunting color issue was why I changed my `76 repaint of my `73 914-2L from the 75 914 Copper Metallic - which looked metallic Orange in the sun - to my "Pavement Cammo" color of the 930 Anthracite Gray metallic in the `80-83 rolling resto - & my being pulled over stopped, while my driving style in it remained the same! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Cheers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Tom /////// |

Seems like the lady in th red dress from the movie the Matrix.
This thread made me look around more today, up here in New England. Black, silver and white are the dominant car colors. Occasional red cars. Nothing else, which seems sad. |

I have owned a black one, an orange one, a red one a white one and a yellow which I currently drive. It might be that I owned most of my earlier cars in California growing up, not to mention my father was a motorcycle cop. Now I'm in Texas and a lot of open road................ Plus the car is yellow. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif) |
