No affiliation

I think a certain member that lives in Duluth should go check this out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

https://duluth.craigslist.org/cto/5568951875.html

Only $1550, I'm sure it needs a lot of work, but hard to tell from the pictures.

Interesting. The badge says 1.7 and he mentions buying it in 1970 but the motor in the pic looks like a 2.0 and the CL ad says 1973.

Rick, you going to have a look? Or Gary G?

Looks like a cheap Maaco paint job to hide what should be a $400 car and turn it into a $1500 car.

Nothing quite as liberating as not having to tape off anything for the paint job!

That said, this ad is all over the place.

"I bought the car in 1970 from a private party"

Must have been some back to the future party to buy a 73 in 1970!

"and ran the car for 100K with Mobile 1 oil"

Pure speculation on my part but I don't think Mobil 1 existed back then.

"The engine was in good shape when I took it apart"

Usually my bar starting point for an engine teardown is a little higher...

"I am asking Asking $1550 or BO, to someone that cares about fine automobiles!"

Because that is clearly not me or I wouldn't have Wagner power painted it Chiquita Yellow!

I'll look at it tomorrow but I talked to the guy today and it sounds like he had angle iron welded under the jack points. Parts car at best. Not for me though. I have enough crap to get rid of. I'll get photos.

Oh, ya, 1990 not 1970
